The following rules have been agreed by your committee in order to enable our members to access the squash courts in a safe environment and for everyone to enjoy the health benefits of playing Squash/Racketball.
We have taken steps to provide the best possible facility to allow Squash/Racketball to resume within the restrictions. Our actions are based on the ongoing advice from Scottish Government, Scottish Squashand Health officials. Rules and Clubhouse opening times can change at short notice as and when required. By booking a squash court you are agreeing that you have read and understood and will comply with the Club and Scottish Squash rules as well as any Scottish Government guidance.
Scottish Squash and Scottish Government social distancing guidelines must be observed by all Squash/Racketball players. In addition, it is mandatory to wear a face covering within the Clubhouse except when you are exercising on a squash court.
Using the Squash Courts
You will need a FOB to access the Club and squash courts.
The Squash courts will be open when the Clubhouse is open. Note Clubhouse opening times are available from the weekly Club newsletter and are NOT the times pre-lockdown. If you do not currently receive the club newsletter, please ask Amanda Slater admin@whitecraigstennis.com to be added to the distribution list.
SOLO SQUASH/RACKETBALL IS ALLOWED for adults 18+ unless from the same extended household. A Group cannot book a Court and take turns to use the court one at a time.
UNDER 18s CAN PLAY UNCONDITIONED PLAY FROM 26 April 2021.
Extended Household Squash allows unconditioned play to resume if all players live at the same household address. For more than TWO players, we recommend for safety that games and practice are structured using ¾ court i.e. either of the back quarters is OUT OF BOUNDS for play and therefore operates as a safe zone for players sitting out the play or routine. Guidance for extended households can be found at https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-protection-levels/pages/protection-level-3/
ANY ADULT PLAYING SQUASH ON COURT WITH SOMEONE OUTSIDE THEIR EXTENDED HOUSEHOLD WILL HAVE BOOKING RIGHTS RESCINDED IMMEDIATELY.
121 Coaching is available with strict social distancing rules. Our coaches are Billy Stevely, Jason Broadberry and Jenn Saldanha. They can assist members further with coaching requests.
Videos have been produced by the Squash Coaches with suggested routines to use for single practice. These can be found in the squash section of our website or on the Whitecraigs Squash Facebook page.
Anyone Under 19 must wear eye protection on court and this is encouraged for ALL players.
Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian from the same household limited to one person per child - (a non-member parent will be allowed on court with their member child if they pay the appropriate discounted social subscription of £40).
No spectators are permitted unless one adult/guardian supervising under 14 children.
NON- MEMBERS cannot use the squash courts at ANY time without the prior permission of the Squash Convenor
The court heaters, fans and lights will come on automatically when you enter the Court.
Ensure you bring your own water bottle and take all your belongings on court with you including the water bottle and place in the corner at the front of the court. Note the water fountain and changing rooms/showers are NOT available for use.
We encourage members to bring their own hand sanitiser.
Cleaning equipment will be available outside each court. If not please let the caretaker, Davey Wilson, or bar staff know immediately.
Ensure you wipe down door handles and any noticeable sweat on the floor or walls before and after use. Please be aware if playing an unconditioned squash match the cleaning necessary at the end of the game may be increased therefore leave sufficient time to complete before the next booking comes on court.
Avoid touching surfaces unnecessarily and DO NOT wipe your hands on the walls. No handshakes, elbow tapping etc. Maintain the social distance requirements - 2 metres in the Clubhouse.
Use the one-way system in operation throughout the Clubhouse to enter and leave the squash courts. Enter the squash courts using the main entrance turn right along the corridor and down the stairs to Court 3. Exit past Courts 2 and 1 and up the stairs to the front lounge and dance floor and exit via the door to the tennis courts in reception.
There is a first aid kit behind reception. The Defibrillator is stored at reception. Please report any accidents to the caretaker or office manager wltccaretaker@gmail.com or admin@whitecraigstennis.com
